Step 1: Product Information
The process begins with a tech pack, sketch, reference garment or product images. Useful information includes fabric direction, measurements, size range, trims, target quantity and market positioning.
Step 2: Fabric and Construction Review
The factory reviews whether the requested fabric and construction are practical. Some fabrics need shrinkage testing, lining adjustments, special sewing methods or MOQ confirmation before sampling.
Step 3: First Sample
The first sample checks shape, fit, fabric behavior and workmanship. It may not be perfect, but it should reveal what needs to be improved. Brands should provide clear comments on fit, measurement, fabric, trims and finishing.
Step 4: Revisions and Approval
One to three sample rounds are common depending on product complexity. Once the sample is approved, it becomes the reference for bulk production.
